That Changed My Morning

The other morning found me running on fumes.

It's been just a few too many days of getting up with the loud alarm.

Far before I was ready.

When I got into work.

My coworker surprised me with a compliment on my outfit.

I was wearing something I threw on the dresser the night before without a second thought.

But she doted on me anyway.

So I let the compliment sink in.

A new act of kindness toward myself.

I went from, “I don’t quite have it today,” to, “Maybe I still got it.”

Her tiny compliment boosted my confidence.

I think I’ll wear that outfit again sometime.
