I send an email every week to share a little about each piece and the story behind why I make what I make.

I’ll never share your contact information.

Thank you!
You don’t need a special reason to commission art. Sometimes it’s simply about turning something personal into something lasting. You bring the meaning. I’ll make the painting. I have a few spring openings on my calendar. Pop in and check it out! https://emilyknabbart.squarespace.com/commissons #commisions #handsandflowers #paintedstories #watercolor
Corey and I met last fall at an art show.

She is a budding chef, a classic movie lover, a total jokester, and a traumatic brain injury survivor.

Her senior year of high school, a truck hit her car, and she has been rebuilding her life ever since.
Corey and I met last fall at an art show. She is a budding chef, a classic movie lover, a total jokester, and a traumatic brain injury survivor. Her senior year of high school, a truck hit her car, and she has been rebuilding her life ever since. That day, just being outside in the sunshine, looking at art, was part of her recovery. She kept coming back to my paintings of hands and flowers because they felt familiar. Like a place she could rest. Later, her mom Marie reached out to commission a surprise birthday painting, timed with the 15 year anniversary of Corey’s accident. She chose an open hand, holding a butterfly mid takeoff. A symbol of Corey’s endurance and the life she continues to shape. Commissioned art is for everyone. It might sound fancy, but it’s really just custom. You tell me your story. I take care of the rest. Get a spot on my calender: https://emilyknabbart.squarespace.com/commissons #commissionpainting #handsandflowers #butterfly #tramaticbraininjury #survivor
I like painting hands. They lend without asking. Hold what can’t be said. Reach for help. Draw me close. Soothe what aches. Carry what’s heavy. Let go when you’re ready. Tend and mend. Lift what matters. Grip what grounds you. Clap in celebration. Dance hand in hand. Build something new. And trace what’s gone.
