I love candles.

Whenever someone blows out a candle I think it smells like birthday cake.

Even though there may be no cake in sight.

Today is my birthday and honestly...I find December to be a tricky time to celebrate.

There are enough parties, lists, and hurried errands this time of year.

Sandwiched between holidays, my Sagittarius friends surely know what I mean.

But when I see the warm festive lights, sit by a roaring fire, and curl up in my cozy sweater...I remember how magical December can be.

I shut my eyes. I cross my fingers.

I take a deep breath. I blow out my candles.

And I make a little wish.
