My bedroom was pink and purple when I was a kid.

But as I grew up, I ignored those colors.

I didn’t wear them.

I didn’t choose them.

I avoided them whenever I could.

But I think I was missing out.

On the softer side of myself.

The calm one.

The loving one.

The one strong enough to stay soft in a harsh world.

An original watercolor inspired by the colors and shapes of spring.

Painted by hand on paper, this piece is part of an ongoing study of seasonal flowers and the quiet beauty they bring for a short time each year.
