Audacity

This morning on my break,

I laid down in my classroom.

Turned off the lights.

Closed the door.

I felt the guilt creep in.

You should be doing more.

But I shut my eyes anyway.

I chose rest.

Not because I earned it,

but because I needed it.

And every time I pause,

say no,

or listen to my limits.

I hope I’m helping make a world.

Where authenticity, not exhaustion, becomes the norm.
